Job Description

About Polymarket

Polymarket is the world's largest prediction market platform. We enable individuals to express views on real-world events by trading on outcomes across politics, economics, sports, culture, and current affairs. Built as a peer-to-peer marketplace with no centralized "house," Polymarket aggregates diverse opinions into transparent, market-based probabilities that reflect collective expectations about the future.

We're growing fast — both in terms of volume ($21B traded in 2025) and adoption as an alternative news source. Our ambition is to become a ubiquitous beacon of truth in global media and we need your help adding fuel to the fire.

About the role

We're looking for a Workplace Lead to own our physical space and what it feels like to work here. You'll report to the Head of People Experience and manage the Office Manager and Receptionist. On day one you're running NYC HQ. Over the next year you'll build the team and systems to keep it running at 200 and 500 people, and lead a major office build-out.

This is a strategic role, not an administrative one. You'll run the office like a product, constantly shipping improvements that make the space match the intensity of the work we do. You'll manage the team, the budget, and the vendors, and own how Polymarket's offices look and feel. Done well, the workplace becomes a reason people want to come in.

What you'll do

Run the office

  • Keep NYC HQ running at a high bar every day: space, supplies, furniture, and vibes

  • Set the standard. If something's broken or missing, your team fixes it before anyone notices.

  • Select and manage vendors (cleaning, catering, facilities maintenance)

  • Own the workplace budget. Plan it, track it, and find places to save.

  • Make sure investors, candidates, and partners get who Polymarket is the moment they walk in

  • Work with IT and Security on the systems behind the office (visitor management, room booking, inventory, maintenance) and keep them working as we grow

  • Make the office sustainable and accessible: sensible waste, energy, and recycling practices, and spaces that meet ADA standards and work for everyone

Own health, safety & security

  • Own workplace health and safety: routine checks, ergonomics, and local compliance

  • Run emergency preparedness with the Security team, including evacuation plans, drills, and business continuity

  • Work with Security on physical access and incident response, from building access to visitor protocols

Build and lead the team

  • Manage and grow the workplace team, starting with the Office Manager and Receptionists

  • Set clear goals and ownership, coach the team, and hold a high bar

  • Write the playbooks and SOPs so the office runs well when you're not in the room

  • Be the go-to workplace partner for People, Finance, IT, and Security

  • Track how the workplace is doing (utilization, employee satisfaction, spend) and report it to leadership

Own events & culture infrastructure

  • Own the in-office events program: happy hours, celebrations, and All Hands logistics. You set the direction; your team runs the day-of with your assistance as needed

  • Partner with People on culture programming: swag, welcome kits, recognition, onboarding, ongoing programs, and seasonal moments

  • Use the space and the calendar to keep people connected in person as we grow

Lead the workplace team through the office build-out

  • Manage the landlord relationship, for this building and future. You ensure the lease is honored, we’re compliant with local ordinances, and we maintain a strong partnership with the building and city officials

  • Work with our in-house designers and outside architects and interior teams on timeline, permitting, furniture, and the move itself. Delivering the new space on time, on budget, and with an exceptional experience for the team

  • Take on more sites and real estate as we grow, scoping and building out new space as Polymarket expands

What we're looking for

  • 7–10+ years in workplace, office operations, or facilities at a high-growth startup or tech company, including managing people

  • You've built a workplace function and led the team that runs it day to day

  • You've led a major office build-out or relocation

  • Sharp with budgets and vendors: you negotiate well and hold people accountable

  • You build durable systems instead of one-off fixes

  • Extreme ownership: when the AV dies mid-all-hands, you fix it and make sure it doesn't happen again

  • High taste and attention to detail. The office should look good and run well.

  • A strong communicator who can talk to executives, engineers, and contractors, and adjust to whoever's in the room

Preferred

  • Experience in fintech, crypto, or fast-moving startups

  • Experience managing office build-outs in NYC specifically

  • Event planning background, internal or external

  • Familiarity with Notion, Slack, and modern workplace tools

  • Experience partnering directly with People Ops / HR on culture programming

Benefits

  • Competitive salary & equity

  • Unlimited PTO

  • Full Health, Vision, & Dental coverage

  • 401k match

  • Hardware setup — new MacBook Pro, big display, & accessories
