The Role

We are seeking a Field Structured Cabling Technician to support the deployment of high-quality cabling infrastructure across our data center environments. This is a hands-on, field-based role responsible for coordinating and overseeing structured cabling installations, ensuring work is completed safely, accurately, and in alignment with project timelines and design specifications.

You will serve as a key on-site partner, working closely with design teams, project managers, contractors, and vendors to translate technical drawings into fully executed cabling systems. This role plays a critical part in maintaining installation quality, driving execution, and ensuring proper documentation and change control throughout the project lifecycle. You’ll primarily work on-site at our data center in Vineland, New Jersey, with occasional travel required based on project needs.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Coordinate and oversee structured cabling installations from early project phases through final deployment

  • Supervise and guide third-party contractors and cable installation teams, ensuring work meets quality and safety standards

  • Execute and validate installations based on design drawings (AutoCAD/DWG), specifications, and routing plans

  • Track installation progress, including cable pulls, routing, and completion status, and document any deviations

  • Apply minor field updates to drawings when needed and escalate major design changes to engineering teams

  • Oversee installation of cable trays, pathways, and containment systems

  • Maintain accurate documentation, including as-built records, cable tracking logs, and change control updates

  • Partner with logistics and vendors to coordinate material delivery, staging, and inventory management

  • Serve as the primary on-site point of contact for cabling-related questions, issues, and coordination

  • Ensure all work is performed in accordance with data center safety standards and operational requirements

We expect you to have:

  • 2–4+ years of hands-on experience in structured cabling, telecommunications, or data center environments

  • Experience installing and supporting fiber and copper cabling systems

  • Strong understanding of fiber infrastructure, including:

    • Patch panels and enclosures

    • Fiber distribution frames and cassettes

    • Cable management systems

  • Ability to read and interpret AutoCAD/DWG drawings and execute work accordingly in the field

  • Experience coordinating or overseeing contractors or installation crews

  • Knowledge of cable routing, tray systems, and best practices for installation

  • Experience with field documentation, cable tracking, and change management processes

  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting large-scale data center or hyperscale deployments

  • Familiarity with data center environments, including access, safety, and operational procedures

  • Basic understanding of network infrastructure and how cabling supports IT systems

  • Experience working on high-density fiber deployments

  • Familiarity with industry standards such as TIA, ISO, and BICSI

Nice to Have

  • Experience with fiber fusion splicing

What we offer

  • Competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package.
  • Opportunities for professional growth within Nebius.
  • Flexible working arrangements.
  • A dynamic and collaborative work environment that values initiative and innovation.
