About Zipline

Zipline is the world’s largest and most experienced drone delivery service. We are on a mission to serve all humans equally by ensuring access to food, medicine and essential goods anytime, anywhere. We design, build, and operate the world’s largest autonomous logistics system, delivering critical supplies quickly and reliably. Today, Zipline operates on four continents, makes a delivery somewhere in the world every 30 seconds, and has completed millions of deliveries to date, including blood, vaccines, medical supplies, food, and retail products.

Our customers include the world’s largest and most prominent healthcare systems, governments, retailers, restaurants and global businesses who rely on us to save lives, reduce emissions, increase economic opportunity, and provide delivery from point A to point B as fast as possible. The drone is only 15% of what we’ve built to enable seamless, reliable, global operations.

Our system strengthens supply chains, reduces congestion, and gives people time back. With more than 140 million commercial autonomous miles safely flown, Zipline is redefining access to healthcare, consumer products, and food across the globe.

We operate at a global scale and are looking for practical problem solvers who thrive on real-world challenges and rapid growth. Our team is motivated by building systems that have a direct, meaningful impact on people’s lives and by scaling the future of logistics. We are seeking people who sculpt from first principles, enjoy facing adversity, and can do the impossible at record breaking speeds.

About You and The Role

As Senior Manager of Electronics Supply Chain, you will lead the full commercial strategy and execution for all electronics-related sourcing and supplier management. This high-impact role carries broad ownership for ensuring the reliable, cost-effective supply of critical electronic hardware that powers our drones, ground systems, and overall operations. You will manage a team of sourcing professionals while partnering deeply with Engineering, NPI, Quality, and Manufacturing to drive both technical excellence and strong business outcomes in a fast-scaling hardware environment. Reporting directly to the VP of Supply Chain, this is a strategic leadership position for someone who excels at blending deep technical knowledge with sharp commercial execution.

What you’ll do:

  • Lead end-to-end commercial management of electronics suppliers, covering vendor selection, contract negotiation and operationalization of PCBA assembly, PCB fabrication, electrical component & interconnects sourcing.
  • Develop and own category strategies that deliver meaningful cost reductions, secure long-term capacity, reduce lead times, and strengthen supply chain resilience against market volatility.
  • Execute complex negotiations including pricing agreements, long-term contracts, volume commitments, and flexible supply models while building strategic supplier relationships that deliver competitive advantage.
  • Collaborate closely with Engineering and NPI teams to influence component selection, optimize BOMs, apply design-for-supply-chain principles, and ensure seamless transitions from prototype to volume production.
  • Establish rigorous supplier performance frameworks including scorecards, regular business reviews, quality programs, and technology alignment to continuously improve delivery, cost, and innovation.
  • Proactively identify and mitigate risks such as component obsolescence, single-source dependencies, geopolitical factors, and market disruptions.
  • Lead and develop the existing team (6) while continuing to build, mentor, and grow a world-class organization, fostering a culture of ownership, analytical decision-making, and cross-functional partnership.
  • Track and report key metrics that demonstrate clear impact on product cost, industrialization, capacity & capability, and overall supplier performance.
  • Provide executive-level insights, scenario planning, and strategic recommendations on electronics supply chain matters.

What You’ll Bring:

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in electronics supply chain management or engineering, ideally within high-tech hardware, aerospace, robotics, automotive, or similar complex manufacturing environments.
  • Strong technical foundation with practical knowledge of PCBA processes, PCB technologies, electronic components, and electronics manufacturing.
  • Demonstrated commercial strength with a proven ability to negotiate high-value agreements and deliver significant cost savings and performance improvements.
  • Experience leading and developing teams of Global Supply Managers, buyers, or supply chain professionals.
  • Success operating in dynamic, high-growth settings with global supply chains and rapidly evolving technical requirements.
  • Excellent negotiation, analytical, communication, and influencing skills, with the ability to work effectively across technical and business functions.

Preferred Skills:

  • Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Supply Chain, Electrical Engineering, Business, or a related technical discipline (graduate degree in Engineering preferred).
  • Hands-on familiarity with semiconductor cycles, passive components, advanced packaging, and broader electronics market dynamics.
  • Experience with ERP systems, supply chain tools, and data-driven sourcing practices.
  • Background in regulated or safety-critical industries (aerospace, automotive, medical devices) is a strong plus.
  • Passion for Zipline’s mission of instant, equitable access to essential goods via autonomous delivery.
